Periana, a small town in the Andalusia region of southern Spain, hosted its first-ever Charity Run for the Maasai Community, bringing together nearly 600 runners from five schools across four neighboring towns. Organized by Periana Secondary School as part of the Objective 8800 network, the event demonstrated the growing commitment of local communities to wildlife conservation and education.

Before the race, Dr. Fabiola Quesada visited the school to share her field experiences in Africa, inspiring students to discover how local action can create a global conservation impact.

The enthusiastic participation and outstanding community support made the event a great success for Wild Spirit Foundation, proving how schools and local communities can come together to make a meaningful difference.

With Periana joining the initiative, the network of charity runs that began in Úbeda continues to expand across Andalusia, inspiring more communities to take part.
