At Wild Spirit Foundation, we believe that every small action towards environmental conservation has a lasting impact. That’s why we launched the “One Tree, One Child” initiative—an inspiring project that connects children with nature by giving each student the responsibility of planting and nurturing a tree.
Planting Roots for the Future
Since the beginning of the rainy season, our team has planted more than 50 trees across four schools:
- Orkisima Primary School
- Sironga Primary School
- Losimingori Primary School
- Lepurko Secondary School
We began with Class Three at Orkisima, where 27 children each planted their own tree. The planting process continued throughout March, ensuring that every child could actively participate and take daily care of their tree.
A Hands-On Approach to Conservation
Alongside our team leader Elibariki, we led practical sessions at the schools, combining environmental education with direct action. The children were excited to plant their trees and learn how to care for them. This hands-on experience builds a personal connection to nature and introduces key climate action principles in an engaging way.

Expanding the Initiative
Our vision is to plant at least 300 trees in total, continuing in April during the peak of the rainy season. With the help of local nurseries in Mto wa Mbu, we’ve selected resilient tree species like Lucina, Senas Amea (Mijooro), and Acacia Titilis, all of which are suitable for the arid conditions of the area.
Why This Matters
Tree planting plays a crucial role in carbon sequestration, biodiversity conservation, and climate change awareness. By involving young students, we’re not just planting trees—we’re cultivating a new generation of environmental stewards.

Join Us in Making a Difference
We invite everyone to support this initiative and help us expand our reach. Whether by donating trees, spreading awareness, or getting involved in local conservation efforts, every contribution matters. Together, we can create a future where children and nature thrive hand in hand.
