Our action: GPS tracking, drone monitoring, and veterinary action to reduce human–wildlife conflict.

For many children growing up in rural Maasai communities, especially girls, access to education remains limited. Long distances to school, food insecurity, and limited infrastructure continue to affect learning opportunities and future employment.
Losimingori lies between two of East Tanzania’s most important wildlife landscapes: the Tarangire and Serengeti ecosystems.

Here, communities live alongside wildlife while facing environmental challenges that directly affect both livelihoods and conservation.
Through education, scholarships, school meals, environmental awareness, women’s empowerment, and local employment, Wild Spirit® strengthens Maasai communities and builds the foundations for long-term coexistence between people and wildlife.

Protecting wildlife by empowering people.

Where We Work

Wild Spirit® works in Losimingori Village, northern Tanzania, in partnership with the local Maasai community.

The programme centres around Achieving Dreams School, a preschool and primary school serving children from Losimingori and surrounding villages.

What We Do

Wild Spirit® provides the strategic and financial support behind the Achieving Dreams Programme, ensuring that education is connected with nutrition, health, scholarships, environmental awareness, women’s empowerment, and community development.

01

Quality Education

We provide education from preschool through primary school, strengthening literacy, mathematics, science, English, critical thinking, and environmental awareness.

02

Scholarships & Future Careers

We support students beyond primary school through scholarships for secondary education, vocational training, college, and university, helping create the next generation of Maasai professionals.

03

Nutrition, Health & Safe Learning

We support school meals, safe facilities, and healthy learning environments to improve attendance, concentration, and academic performance.

04

Community & Women’s Empowerment

We work alongside Maasai families through women’s initiatives, cultural exchange, and community development projects that strengthen livelihoods.

05

Environmental Education

We connect education with conservation through tree planting, wildlife education, sustainability projects, and environmental awareness.

06

Local Employment & Leadership

The school is run by a local Maasai team of teachers, healthcare, environmental, and support staff, creating sustainable employment and community leadership.

07

International Partnerships

We connect schools across continents through educational exchanges, cultural programmes, and conservation initiatives, bringing students together to create global impact.

Achievements and Way Forward

What we have achieved so far

Since 2020, Wild Spirit® has transformed a small community collaboration into a fully funded education and community development programme in Losimingori. Today, the programme provides daily education for 288 Maasai children, sustains 8 local jobs, supports scholarships from primary school to university, strengthens women’s initiatives, and connects education with environmental awareness through tree planting and wildlife learning.

Way Forward

The next priority is to secure the programme’s growth.
Wild Spirit® will focus on building a new Grade 5 classroom, improving sanitation, expanding the school meal programme, increasing scholarships, introducing digital learning tools, and strengthening international school partnerships through initiatives such as Erasmus+.
