Wild Spirit Foundation® operates under a One Health approach — a framework for understanding and addressing conservation that recognises the intrinsic connection between animal health, human health, and ecosystem health.

We don't work only for animals. We work for the balance that sustains us all.

What does working with a One Health approach actually mean?

It means understanding that what harms wildlife harms us all. That a disease in one ecosystem can become a global threat. That protecting biodiversity is, at its core, protecting human health.

This approach — endorsed by the World Health Organization, the FAO, and the WOAH — recognises that the planet's most urgent challenges (biodiversity loss, zoonotic diseases, climate change) can only be addressed in an integrated way. At Wild Spirit Foundation®, this is not a theoretical framework. It is the foundation of every decision we make in the field.

Animal Health. Human Health. Planet Health.

How it shapes our action

Wildlife Health

We intervene directly through veterinary care, applied research, and monitoring of threatened species. Because animal health is the first indicator of an ecosystem's condition.

Ecosystem Integrity

We work to preserve the natural environments that make wildlife possible — and that regulate the climate, water, and resources we all depend on.

Community Wellbeing

No conservation is sustainable without the people who live alongside wildlife. That is why we integrate education, community development, and human-wildlife conflict reduction into every project.

The world is losing biodiversity at an unprecedented rate. Zoonotic diseases account for 75% of emerging infectious diseases. Climate change is pushing ecosystems to their limits. Acting on only one of these fronts is not enough.

Wild Spirit Foundation® works at the intersection of all of them.

Through our One Health approach, we directly advance

Contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals

Good Health & Wellbeing

SDG3

We reduce zoonotic disease transmission and strengthen the health of communities living alongside wildlife.

Quality Education

SDG4

We train vets, scientists, and local communities, and support access to education in rural Africa.

Climate Action

SDG13

We protect ecosystems that act as key climate regulators and develop research on environmental resilience.

Life on Land

SDG15

Our core mission: conserving biodiversity, protecting threatened species, and restoring balance in African ecosystems.

Partnerships for the Goals

SDG17

We build international collaboration networks between scientific institutions, communities, businesses, and public bodies.

Protecting wildlife means protecting ecosystems. Protecting ecosystems means protecting people. At Wild Spirit Foundation®, we don't separate these three worlds — we work at their intersection."

— Fabiola Quesada, Founder of Wild Spirit®

There are many ways to protect the future of wildlife. Every one of them starts with a decision.
